Confesso: sou devoto de Steven Adler. Ele eh meu pastor das baquetas e nada me faltara, pois sei que toda vez que lembrar que vi esse monstro sagrado tocar ROCKET QUEEN ao vivo, minha vida se enchera de luz e eu subirei ao paraiso das musicas que mudam uma existencia.
A noite de ontem em Sydney me fez querer largar o violao e a guitarra e comprar um bumbo e uns pratos. Que instrumento poderoso. Steven Adler entrou no palco muito aplaudido e nao falou uma palavra. Sentou no banquinho e esperou o responsavel pelo som apertar o play. Aos primeiros acordes de Welcome To The Jungle, ele iniciou a destruicao sonora sobre a face da Terra.
O som da bateria era alto e cristalino e ele se mexia compulsivamente, levantando a perna esquerda do chao enquanto esmurrava o kit sem misericordia. Eu nao conseguia entender como tinha perdido tempo em workshops de guitarra se toda a verdade universal estava sendo revelada ali, nos pes e maos do messias do rock. Assim que a musica acabou, ele se levantou e foi ovacionado pelos fieis.
CASTIGA ESSAS PELE.
Depois de agradecer varias vezes pela presenca de todos, comecaram as perguntas. Algumas foram interessantes, como o relato do primeiro encontro dele com Slash. Ele disse que tinha onze anos e estava andando de skate. De repente levou um tombo e Slash foi a unica pessoa que parou para perguntar se ele estava bem.
O unico ponto fraco da noite foram as pessoas que ao inves de usar a oportunidade para fazer perguntas ficavam pedindo as baquetas dele. Eh compreensivel o comportamento de fa, mas isso fez com o que o tempo para questionamentos ficasse bem menor. Mas a musica estava acima de tudo e quando ele comecou a tocar Sweet Child O' Mine, tudo virou belo novamente.
A sequencia reservava o momento mais sublime da historia da Humanidade: a execucao de Rocket Queen, com seus seis minutos e doze segundos irretocaveis. Maior bateria ja gravada na historia da musica, tenho certeza absoluta. Quando chegam os tres minutos e trinta segundos de execucao, o ceu se abre e a graca divina domina tudo ao redor.
QUE CABELO
Sei que, assim como eu, todos ali atingiram o extase supremo vendo Steven humilhar o cosmos com a mudanca de ritmo que carrega o sinonimo de PERFEICAO no dicionario. Nao seria nada decepcionante se a noite tivesse acabado ali, mas ele ainda aproveitou para tocar Nightrain, motivado pela pergunta que alguem fez sobre o nome do vinho que da nome a musica. A quem interessar possa, ele ainda eh vendido hoje em dia.
Quando tudo parecia se encaminhar para o apocaliptico final, ele ainda atacou de Mr. Brownstone, dessa vez sem a base de fundo. Exatamente, foi apenas Steven Adler acompanhado das centenas de vozes cantando A CAPELLA. Nada poderia ser mais redentor do que isso.
Na fila para os autografos, eu suava e tremia sem parar. Quase na minha hora de falar com ele, a bateria da maquina acabou e tive que trocar rapidamente. Quando chegou a minha vez, nao tive de tempo de olhar o estande com camisetas e cds, pois la estava Steven Adler, sorrindo para mim.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Assim que apertamos as maos, ele olhou para a camiseta do Slash que o Vicente me deu e disse que queria uma. DUAS, na verade. Disse que eu ia mandar (e agora?) e depois tirei a foto que sera herdada pelos meus filhos, netos, bisnetos e assim por diante, para toda a eternidade.
Sera com lagrimas nos olhos que direi a eles que aquele homem loiro de cabelos volumosos foi baterista da banda mais importante de historia e com ela gravou aquele que para sempre sera lembrado como o MAIOR DISCO DE ROCK DE TODOS OS TEMPOS, uma verdadeira biblia sagrada da boa musica. E essas palavras ecoarao por todo o espaco, permanecendo vivas ate que mais nada nem ninguem habite esse mundo.
Que assim seja.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.
